Madhubala
is
one of the most iconic Hindi film
actresses who appeared in some of the most
popular Hindi films of 1950s and 1960s.
She started acting in Bollywood films as a
child actress but it was in 1949 when her
film Mahal released and launched her into
super-stardom. Starring along with
Ashoke Kumar who was in the peak of his
career Mahal made Madhubala a house hold
name. Mahal a thriller about reincarnation
also launched the legendary singer Lata
Mangeshkar.
Following
Mahal
Madhubala went on to appear in
some of the most well-known movies
of 1950s including 1954’s Amar starring
along with Dilip Kumar, Mr. & Mrs.
'55 with Guru Dutt and Chalti Ka Naam
Gaadi in
1958.
In 1960 she would once again team up
with Dilip Kumar to star in
Mughal-e-Azam, a film that is
unquestionably one of the most
iconic films of Indian cinema and is
often acknowledgment as one of the
greatest films ever made.
Known
as The Venus Queen of Indian Cinema
Madhubala was the embodiment of beauty
and defined style during the 1950s.
